About Vinnie's Auto Sport

Auto repair and service shop for foreign and domestic vehicles, Located In Cambridge MA since 1980

Located at 196 Monsignor O'Brien Hwy, Cambridge, MA 02141, Vinnie's Auto Sport operates as an auto repair shop serving Cambridge in Massachusetts. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Cambridge, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Massachusetts vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Vinnie's Auto Sport at (617) 547-6169; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 72 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Cambridge and suggests consistent service.

I had a flat tyre due to a nail puncture, and Vinnie quickly fixed it for me without charging anything. I originally went to him to have my Toyota Camry exhaust checked, and he honestly diagnosed the issue and referred me to an exhaust specialist instead of trying to do unnecessary work himself. Vinnie is an honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy mechanic who genuinely looks out for his customers. It’s not easy to find mechanics like him these days, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy service.

Stopped by one morning to see if I could some help with my car and the guy there told me to call later about coming in that afternoon or the next morning. I called that afternoon and he said he wasn't available in the afternoon but would definitely be available in the morning. I asked what time and he said to just call him in the morning. I took a bit of time off work, planning on stopping by, and called when I was getting ready to leave. He said he just needed to move a car and would call me back. Twenty minutes later, I still hadn't heard from him so I called again and he said he wouldn't be able to take my car until 430, but no later. I told him I had work until 5 and he told me to come in the next morning. I asked when and he said to call in the morning. I reminded him that that's what happened today and I was already late to work, so could I set an appointment and he said no and that I had to call in the morning. So I gave up and went to another shop and got in immediately no problem.

As other customers giving 5-star, I have exceptional experience with Vinnie's for repairing my Honda. I got brake problems when I must use the car for long distance travel on the same day. Called Vinnie at 8 AM and had it fixed at 4PM. He's so considerate, and had excellent communication. I much appreciate his great work and recommend without hesitation.
